I had the most wonderful and heart warming experience to be able to spend my days painting on Graham Ave in Winnipeg Manitoba for the Asphalt Art Initiative by Bloomberg org. Creating away, pouring myself into this massive 13,000 square foot asphalt canvas on Graham street between Smith and Donald. I have been blessed with getting to spend time with the kindest most supportive, vibrant community of people, people living downtown and calling it home, working in the area, traveling through, or on adventures and passing through. My days were filled with joy cause of all of you, sharing your stories, personal lived experiences and excitement for the process of this creative space and all of our artwork coming to life. Each day I got to know so many new people and have a glimpse into the lives that intertwine this beautiful city. BBQ’s with beautiful live music, kids laughing and playing on route to the forks or library, grandparents fixing up shades so I don’t have to be painting right in the sun. Manitoba is really truly filled with such warmth. I’m excited to see how the space keeps transforming and growing and am so grateful to have gotten this opportunity. Thank you so much Stéphane from @coolstreetswpg you are such a gem of a person, your working day and night with the biggest smile on your face and never ending kindness, thank you for all that you do and this opportunity to connect with so many wonderful people. What a gift to get to work along side such kind and immensely talented artists, feel so blessed to have my art displayed along side such talent. Thank you so much to all my family for helping so I could be painting away, to my love Andre for all the help blocking of this massive space with me so I could jump into the fine details, and my brother Lornie for the early morning painting hangout and help I appreciate you all more than I can ever express in words.
